AD Series Ceiling Fabric

This is a heavy-gauge foam-laminated headliner material supplied at 30–40mm total build, considerably thicker than standard roof lining stock. The face is a fine 180 g/m² knitted polyester with a soft brushed surface, bonded to a thick open-cell foam body. At this thickness the foam is no longer just a smoothing layer under the fabric — it becomes a structural cushion in its own right, giving the ceiling substantial insulating body, absorbing cabin noise and road drumming, and reducing heat transfer through the roof panel in hot climates. It also completely conceals the substrate beneath, so an uneven, ribbed or repaired roof board finishes flat without any telegraphing.

Product Description

The knitted face stretches in every direction, which is essential on a roof: a ceiling area is a compound curved surface with recesses for lamps, grab handles, sunroof surrounds and pillar edges, and only a bidirectional stretch fabric will follow those contours without wrinkles or pull marks at the corners. The matte surface reflects almost no light downward, keeping glare off the windscreen from the ceiling plane, while the brushed nap gives the soft, quality touch expected on a surface passengers frequently brush against. The thick build makes this material especially suited to vans, motorhomes, campervan conversions, buses, trucks and custom builds, where thermal and acoustic performance matter as much as appearance.

Light grey is the dominant factory ceiling colour worldwide, so a single stocked shade covers the majority of refit and conversion jobs, with additional colours available on request. Material ships by the metre or as full rolls at standard headliner width, and foam thickness, face colour and surface texture can all be adjusted for OEM and ODM orders. Samples are available so buyers can confirm shade, cushion depth and hand feel before volume release, with abrasion, flammability and light fastness testing arranged to the destination market standard.
