The face is smooth and finely grained, finished with a soft satin sheen rather than a plastic gloss. That matters in a strong colour: a high-gloss blue reads as cheap and shows every fingerprint, while this satin level keeps the colour rich and the surface calm. The tone holds under direct sunlight through glass without flattening out or turning chalky.
Behind the PU coating sits a light-coloured textile backing. It gives the sheet enough body to be pulled cleanly across a foam bun without over-stretching, keeps the material dimensionally stable during cutting and sewing, and takes adhesive well for wrapped panels. At 1.2mm the sheet is substantial enough to feel like upholstery in the hand, yet still flexible enough to turn tight radiuses on bolsters and headrests without puckering.
