The face carries a pebble litchi grain in a warm caramel brown. The grain is not decorative: on a wheel it is the grip surface. A raised pebble texture gives the hand something to hold against, where a flat smooth coating would go slippery the moment the driver's palms warm up. The finish is deliberately low-gloss — a wheel sits directly in the driver's sightline under the windscreen, and any gloss on that arc throws reflection straight into the eyes.
The perforation is the other half of the specification. The regular grid of small round holes runs through the coating to let air and moisture move through the grip zone instead of sitting between palm and leather. In practice that is the difference between a wheel that stays dry through a long drive and one that gets tacky in summer traffic. It also gives the wheel the two-tone visual language buyers expect from performance trim: perforated at 3 and 9 o'clock where the hands live, smooth grain across the top and bottom segments.
At 1.4mm this is a heavier gauge than general upholstery stock, and intentionally so. A wheel wrap is stretched around a tight circular section and hand-stitched under tension along the full circumference; a thin sheet will neck down at the stitch line and telegraph the rim armature underneath. The 1.4mm body holds the section, takes the needle cleanly, and keeps the seam sitting flat.
